Realization of contract obligations commenced in production of "astra" in Kragujevac

Mutual visits of technical teams of "Opel" and factory "Zastava automobili" have practically marked the beginning of realization of mutual contract obligations related to assembling of "Opel’s" automobiles in Kragujevac, which should start in the last quarter of the next year, on the basis of the contract signed this summer by "Zastava vozila" Group and "General motors".

- Our technical team paid a visit to "Opel’s" factory in Poland, which produces "Astra classic" and "Opel Astra H", in order to meet "Opel’s" requests and standards, and their teams visited our units at the same time", said the Manager of company "Zastava AGeM", which was founded for the sake of realization of contract between "Zastava" and "General motors", Zoran Stošić.

Pointing out that realization of numerous very complex and voluminous activities is necessary prior to commencement of production, Stošić said that part of the funds for assembling of "Astra classic" in Kragujevac would be provided from the commission from sale of that vehicle in Serbia.

- At this moment we can not talk about precise amount of investment, but that will also be one of the subjects of the future talks with "Opel's" technical team - said Stošić and reminded that assembling lines and equipment for assembling of automobile bodies of "zastava 10" would be used to a great extent for assembling automobiles "Opel", which will be arriving in parts and fits.
