Warehouse in Dobanovci ceremoniously opened by cargo-partner

The international transport company cargo-partner ceremoniously opened a new warehouse in Dobanovci on Thursday (29 October 2015), celebrating on that occasion the 11th anniversary of operations in Serbia. In an informal ambiance, enriched with the music and entertainment program and famous traditional flavors of Serbia and Austria, business partners and friends of this company got acquainted with the history of cargo-partner in Serbia, its business results, as well as the characteristics of the new warehouse.

Mirko Ilic, CEO of cargo-partner in Serbia, shared an anecdote with guests about how cargo-partner came to our country in the first place.

- When I decided in 2004 to return from Canada to Serbia, I was in touch with cargo-partner and thought I could offer them to open a branch office in our country. After few meetings, I assured them that Serbia was a good country for doing business. We started with an office in Novi Sad employing few people, while today cargo-partner has offices in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Subotica, employing 85 people.

Robert Galbavy, the executive director of the cargo-partner group, confirmed that the decision to come to Serbia had been made on the basis of personal contact because they did not have enough information on Serbia so it was not in the focus of their interest.

- The results prove that decision was right. We have invested in facilities in only four different markets, one of which is Serbia - said Galbavy.

Nebojsa Djekic, the sales director at cargo-partner in Serbia, informed all the guests that the new warehouse on a surface area of 8,000 square meters featured 20,000 pallet spaces and 18 loading docks, including a dock for oversized cargo. The warehouse also contains a 2,200 square meter public customs warehouse equipped with rack systems and a block storage zone.

The freight-forwarding company cargo-partner is medium in size and is still a family firm. Founded in 1983, the company has over 100 offices in 27 countries worldwide with 2,500 workers and 252,000 square meters of storage space.
