Talks with IMF delegation commenced in Belgrade

Official talks between the representatives of Serbia and a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) began today with a plenary meeting at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), the central bank of Serbia announced in a release.

Serbian representatives included NBS Governor and Serbia’s representative to the IMF Jorgovanka Tabakovic, Finance Minister Dusan Vujovic and Economy Minister Zeljko Sertic with associates.

The IMF mission headed by James Roaf will stay in Belgrade from October 29th to November 10th for the third review of the precautionary stand-by arrangement approved to Serbia on 23 February 2015.

The talks will cover the latest fiscal, monetary and balance of payments developments in the country, and the fulfilment of obligations set for the third quarter under the agreed economic programme.

Representatives of the Republic of Serbia and the IMF will also discuss the implementation of economic policy in the coming period, preparation of the macroeconomic and fiscal framework until the end of this year and over the following years, including preparation of the budget for 2016, the release reads.
