Assembly adopts Law on investments –Local and foreign investors equal

The Assembly of Serbia adopted on Friday the Law on investments which should, according to the proponent, move foreign and local investments and contribute to industrialization of Serbia. The law makes local and foreign investors equal and as the minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, explained, clearly defines commitments of investors.
The law distinguishes between investments of national importance and local investments since , as Sertic said, it is not the same thing when a kiosk or production is opened.
The Law on investments implies set up of the Council for economic development and the Developmental Agency of Serbia which will inherit the Agency for foreign investments and promotion of products of Serbia (SIEPA) and the National Agency for regional development which will be closed.
