WORLD BANK: Serbia should continue fiscal reform

The head of the World Bank for SEE, Elen Goldstein, said on Thursday, October 22, 2015 that economic recovery can be expected in Serbia and Monteengro but she outlined that the netire process can be jeopardize with the lack of reforms and inadequate implementation of fiscal consolidation.

- Therefore there is a necessity to implement all the reforms – she said at the regional conference in Becici dedicated to efficient joining EU, stating that economic recovery can be achieved even with very unfavorable environment.

She pointed at the fact that the region has been growing, Montenegro faster that Serbia but she outlined that Serbia recovered from the floods faster than expected. “Serbia should continue with fiscal reform and to provide support to private sector”, Goldstein said.
