Free zone Pirot ranked among 50 best in the world - Additional benefits for investors needed

Free zone Pirot is among 50 best in the world when it comes to business terms, it was communicated today at the meeting in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC). At the meeting, it was outlined that additional benefits for investors are necessary in free zones in Serbia so that more investors would be attracted and so that the situation 11 eleven foreign companies which wanted to invest in Serbia left to Macedonia would not repeat.

Free zone Pirot is at the list of "fDi" magazine among 50 best investment locations in the world. As a southeast free zone it has been ranked in the category of sub-regional results apart from free zone Shannon in Ireland, Katowice special economic zone in Poland and Waigaoqiao from China and others. The Pirot municipality owns 22% of the zone and therefore it is very interested in making the zone operating successfully which is why it offers numerous benefits for investors.

President of the Group of free zones in SCC, Dragan Kostic, who is also the head of the Free zone in Pirot, said that one of the benefits provided is free customs and import taxes which are not charged and the city of Pirot upon the construction of the facility within the zone does not charge a fee for land development, local administration costs, access to local infrastructure or fee for urban planning.
