Energy Fair and Environment Protection Fair opened at Belgrade Fair

Minister of Mining and Energy, Aleksandar Popović, said today (September 12, 2007), at the opening of the third Energy Fair, that that sector would face numerous challenges in the forthcoming years and that the way should be found for quick increase in electricity production.

- Transfer capacities must be improved and the problem with gas supply during winter months should be resolved - said Popović and pointed out that "mining must be raised from the current situation to an economic branch that would be a flywheel of part of Serbian economy".

- Energy sector must be promoted as a keeper of environment - said Popović and pointed to the fact that it was the joint deal of the Ministry of Mining and Energy and the Ministry of Environment Protection.

Minister of Environment Protection, Saša Dragin, said at the opening of the fourth Ecology Fair that it was very important that every man should take care and avoid activities that would endanger environment.
