Nijaz Hastor, the owner of the ASA Prevent Group Sarajevo holding company has submitted the highest non-binding takeover bid for Kopar-based Cimos, the Ljubljana daily Dnevnik writes.

This information has been confirmed by several sources in the last couple of days. Hastor, who also owns ASA Prevent and Germany's Prevent Dev, bought a factory in Srebrenica from Cimos in March 2015.

In this attempt to take over Cimos which employs about 7,000 people, Hastor will receive financial assistance from the Russian state-owned bank VTB. However, it was impossible to confirm if Hastor was going to submit a binding bid for Cimos as well. Unofficially, Hastor has appraised the value of Cimos (including its debts) at EUR 250 million.

According to unofficial information, Cimos is the subject of interest of eight to ten bidders from several countries: USA, Germany, Italy, Spain... Some of them are interested in acquiring only certain parts of the Cimos Group.
