Serbia will ask for higher funds for gas interconnection with Bulgaria

At the upcoming meeting of the Ministerial Council of Energy Community (EC) in Tirana, Serbia will require higher donation from EU for the construction of gas connection between Serbia and Bulgaria, the state secretary at the Ministry of mining and energy, Mirjana Filipovic, announced today.

- For the Nis-Dimitrovgrad gas connection project which is extremely important for Serbia and regional connection we will insist at the EC meeting October 16 in Tirana to set aside higher funds for donation for the project – Filipvic said to journalists at the Energy Fair.

The project is ready and we expect that a way to close the financial construction will be found, she said and reminded that Bulgaria has already received the grant from EU for its entire project section and Serbia received only a small portion and therefore it will require for more.
