As of March 2016, print issues of Playboy magazine will still feature photos of girls in provocative poses, but they will no longer be nude.
Playboy CEO Scott Flanders explains that such photos are "passe" in the age of Internet when you are "just a click away from free porn content."
According to Business Insider, this is a big step for the magazine that gained fame by breaking taboos, but Playboy is selling fewer and fewer copies owing to the Internet and the global availability it has brought. Playboy sales dropped from 5.6 million in 1976 to only 800,000 today.
In addition, in order to gain access to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, the magazine already had to make certain exceptions and make the content "decent" enough for their standards.
