Self-driven taxi in the streets of Japan since 2016

For years now, Japan has accepted robots in everyday life and the latest field where computer machines will provide its services are self-driven "RoboCab" taxi vehicles which could appear in the streets of this east country next year.

Prefecture Kanagawa and Robot Taxi Inc. announced that experiments with autonomous taxi vehicles will start in 2016 when this service will be provided for 50 people from mentioned prefecture south from Tokyo.


Robot Taxi Inc. is a joint venture of internet company DeNA Co. and company for vehicle technology ZMP Inc, and the objective is commercialization of self-driven transport until 2020.
