Chinese company CMEC wants to build slaughterhouse in Kragujevac

Chinese investors are seriously interested in investing in agricultural production in Sumadija, and the company CMEC (China Machinery Engineering Corporation) will be building a slaughterhouse in Kragujevac in addition to purchasing meat from Serbian manufacturers, said Damjan Srejic, the head of the Sumadija Administrative Region.

- The plan is to export 50,000 tonnes of meat from Sumadija to China every year - Srejic told TV Kragujevac.

The head of the Sumadija Region said that the Chinese company CMEC would be building a biogas plant and an educational center in Kragujevac as well.

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Beijing in September between CMEC, the City of Kragujevac and Serbia. Its implementation is expected to start in one month.

China's CMEC in Serbia also works on the renovation and construction of new power generation unit within the Kostolac B thermal power plant.
