(Dusan Vujovic) The minister of finance, Dusan Vujovic, said Serbia does not owe EUR 300 m to savers of former Ljubljanska and Invest banka and that the Government is considering a reply to the Council of Europe where Belgrade is invited to enable payment of these old saving deposits.

- Serbia does not owe 300 m to anybody, these are clients with commercial banks. So, clients have their claims for commercial banks just as they had there for Ljubljanska banka – Vujovic said at the press conference at the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM).

He said the Government received an enquire of the Council of Europe which invites Serbia to implement the verdict of the International Court of Justice to adopt the Law as soon as possible which will enable payment of these old savings deposits and added that the option of extended legal reply to their letter has been considered.

The minister underlined that there is an important legal difference here and that Serbia will try to show that difference.
