Ethical banks, which lend money at minimum interest rates and which will be opened in Croatia in 2016, will not be seen in Serbia in the near future.

People at the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) told the daily Blic that they had not received any request for the establishment of such bank. However, this type of institution, which is deemed a "revolution in banking," is going to be opened in Croatia as early as mid-2016.

Dejan Gavrilovic from the Association of bank clients Efektiva says he has not heard that such bank could be opened in Serbia soon, adding that it was unlikely to happen in Serbia because the banking lobby in the country was very strong.
