Topmix Permeable is porous concrete capable of absorbing 600 liters of water per square meter every minute, which could prevent floods and save human lives in the future.

Every year, some regions around the world are struck by catastrophic floods. Regardless of whether we're talking about hurricanes in the USA and Mexico, heavy rains in the Balkans like in 2014 or monsoon showers in Asia, the biggest problem in cities worldwide is fast clogging of storm drains on streets and pavements.

The company Tarmac has offered a solution - so-called thirsty concrete, that is, topmix permable. This porous concrete can soak up an incredible amount of water - 600 liters per square meter every minute, which is more than enough to handle any kind of downpour or thunder storm.

It is interesting to say that the temperature of this concrete does not go up as high as the temperature of regular concrete when exposed to heat, and the only flaw of topmix permeable is low resistance to cold water, meaning that heavy rains in cold areas with very low temperatures could damage it.
