The streets of Prague have got the first homeless man turned into a walking WiFi hotspot, wearing a T-shirt that reads that anyone who comes close to him can access Internet for free.

This homeless man called Radim, who is well-known in the Dejvice neighborhood for selling flowers at the entrance to the metro station, has agreed to become a test "mobile WiFi transmitter" in the WiFi 4 Life project which student Lubos Bolecek is using to try to combine the useful with the humanitarian - to help homeless people while also providing free access to Internet in places that are not covered by free WiFi signal.

- I am helping them to launch the project. I don't know much about either Internet or these achievements - says Radim.

For the needs of this project, which Bolecek wants to offer to the city of Prague and internet providers if it proves to be successful, six homeless people will be hired in the trial period to spend eight hours a day in the busiest locations in Prague carrying a pocket device that makes it possible for people within the range of about 20 meters to access Internet for free. The WiFi hotspot homeless people would get food, clothing and accommodation in return, and possibly even a job from the city or a company after six months.

A similar idea failed in the USA three years ago because a company promoting it was criticized for humiliating and labeling the homeless in that way.
