Investment of EUR 20 million in Krusik

Serbian Defense Minister Bratislav Gasic announced Monday (7 September 2015) in Valjevo, during his visit to the Krusik factory, that EUR 20 million would be invested in the construction of new facilities and the procurement of new machines for that company in 2015 and 2016.

Gasic told the press that Krusik was "one of the most important arms factories" that had achieved significant export results in the previous year and a half.

- Krusik, which has substantially expanded its portfolio of products in the last year and a half, primarily in the missile program, has filed a request with the Serbian government to hire 345 new workers due to increased volume of work. An average salary is RSD 48,000, and we are also working on the conversion of our old debts to the Tax Administration and the local self-government - said the minister.

He announced the signing of the first contract on Wednesday to start production in Krusik Akumulatori.

- The Defense Ministry deserves the most credit for starting production in Krusik Akumulatori. The contract value is not big, but it is important that we will once again have domestic batteries - said Gasic.

Mladen Petkovic, the director of Krusik in Valjevo, announced the construction of new facilities of Alatnica (toolroom) and Kapislana in the location of the buildings demolished in NATO bombing.

- About EUR 20 million will be invested in the construction of these facilities. In that way, certain imported articles will be replaced with domestic products - Petkovic assessed.
