Commission investigates concentration of Ferrero and Aleksa Santic

The Competition protection Commission of Serbia has announced today that it has started procedure of investigation of concentration which emerged when Agriser, owned by Ferrero, took over agricultural company Aleksa Santic.

As stated in the conclusion which was published at the company’s website, in line with the official duty, procedure of concentration investigation which was carried out although not approved in line with the Law on competition protection, was started.

The Commission started the procedure since it saw that the owner of Agriser, Ferrero trading from Luxembourg, in accounting year which preceded the year of concentration under investigation (2014) at the world market and Serbian market generated total income which, in line with the Law on competition protection, exceeds defined terms for commitment of concentration registration.

It was defined that Ferrero which is a producer of famous world food brands, "kinder", "Ferrero", "Nutella", at the world market, in 2014, generated profit higher than EUR 100 m and at the market of Serbia higher than EUR 10 m through product sale through distributors.
