The highest building in Europe could be built in Novi Beograd! The idea of building of rival scyscraper to that in Frankfurt, in which "Komerc banka" is settled, is recommended by City architect Đorđe Bobić.
In Spring 2006, the tender for allotment of land will be announced. Belgrade’s scyscraper would be built in Block 26, across the road from the Palace of Federation. In Fall 2005, the design of Detailed Land-Utilization Plan for Block 26 and part of Block 25 could start. That plan would enable construction of the tower. On this space 400,000 square meters could be occupied and the idea is that that becomes the business core of Novi Beograd. Detailed plan will be flexible, so that, if there is not investor serious enough, it will allow construction of several 20-storey buildings.
The tender will be announced for the entire free surface, the height of the future buildings will not be limited and the investors will be asked to suggest preliminary architectural-city planning solution for building they would build. The priority at the open competition will be given to the one with the plans for the highest building, although it will be very hard to find such investor.
Few months ago, one Belgian company was interested in building of scyscraper.
