Montenegrin Directorate for Transportation signed contract yesterday (August 23, 2007) with Podgorica-based Civil Engineering Faculty and Center for Roads of Vojvodina on elaboration of project for part of highway that will connect Montenegro with Serbia.
Approximate length of section from Podgorica to Veruša, not far away from Mateševo, is 33.5 km, the value of the contract is about 1.5m EUR, and the selected bidder is obliged to finish the project within six months.
- Afterwards, with the feasibility study that is being designed by French company "Louis Berger", realization of main strategic and investment project in Montenegro should start. That project is construction of highway to the north - Minister of Transportation, Andrija Lompar, announced.
He did not state precisely how the funds would be provided for construction of highway, pointing out that it is possible that fuel price structure will be changed in order for part of money to be provided, and possible influence on living standard of the citizens will be checked on that occasion.
- That, however, does not mean that the price of fuel will be increased - said Lompar.
