Semiannual profit of Belex15 companies down 40%

The constituents of Belex15 index basket achieved much worse results in the first six months of 2015 than in the same period last year.

A total revenue of Belex15 companies was at RSD 183.7 billion (EUR 1.52 billion), down 8.4% from the period January-June 2014. The Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), which accounts for more than a half of the index basket, contributed the most to this bad result because its H1 2015 sales dropped 15.7%. A significant revenue growth of 15% was registered by Energoprojekt holding, while Sojaprotein's revenue went up 21.6% in the same period, Wisebroker reports.

When it comes to profitability, NIS was again the main factor that pushed down the overall profit of Belex15 index basket by 40.5% to RSD 14.8 billion (EUR 122.1 million). The profit of NIS dropped 70.9% to less than RSD 5 billion in this period. A significant impact on bad profitability of the basket was also exerted by Komercijalna Banka whose profit went down 71%, as well as by construction companies Gosa Montaza and Jedinstvo which made a loss in the first six months of the year. Thanks to an extraordinary revenue in the first quarter, Nikola Tesla Airport registered a substantial profit increase of 353.8%. AIK banka doubled the profit in this period, whereas Alfa Plam's final result soared 82.1%, it was announced on the website of this broker company.
