Serbia earned 107m USD from export of confectioneries

- In 2006, Serbian realized foreign currency income of 107m USD and trade surplus in amount of 27.5m USD in 2006 from export of confectionery products - associate in the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, Branislav Gulan, announced. Confectionery industry of Serbia has 100 manufacturers, 20 of which are large ones and they annually produce and deliver more than 130,000 tons of articles to the market.

- The largest share in the structure of production have fine baked products, followed by chocolate and cocoa products and candies. Production in that sector exceeds the needs of the state and grows from year to year, so that it increased in 2006 by 5.2% in regard to year 2005, while the production in 2006 was 55% larger than in 2001 - said Gulan.

The most significant markets are Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Republic of Macedonia, Albania and Croatia, and more than 37,000 tons of confectionery products, worth 96m USD, were exported to the markets of these countries in 2006, which represents 89% of total exported quantity of these articles.
