20,000 liters of plum brandy from cellar "Crkvenac" for US market

This year, Cellar "Crkvenac" from Crkvenac near Svilajnac exported 20,000 liters of "Old Serbian plum brandy" packed in Serbian canteens to US market, and, for the first time, somewhat smaller quantity of brandy in bottles of 0.5 l to the market of Russian Federation. This was confirmed by acting manager of the cellar Miroljub
Spasojević.
- Total of 5,000 bottles of this brandy has been exported to the market of Canada, while "certain quantity" has been exported to the markets of Montenegro, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Australia - Spasojević added.
The plum brandy from Crkvenac travels to USA through old buyer from New York, and it is being transported by ship through port of Bar - he explained and estimated that the export of brandy from Crkvenac could reach value of about 1,000,000 USD in 2007.
The cellar in Crkvenac operates as a part of "Navip", and it has been founded by the inhabitants of this and neighboring village in municipality of Svilajnac in 1929. It is specialized for production of high-quality brandies, and its capacity is 150 railway cars.
