In one hundred years, no one will swim in Italy and Spain - Baltic sea to become top destination of 22nd century

In one hundred years no one will bath in Italy or Spain but tourists will go to the Baltic sea, Latvia and Estonia, two Spanish researchers state.

The destiny, a consequence of climate changes, will be the same for these two countries and entire Mediterranean region, they warn, adding that tourists will opt more for summer holidays in the countries of north Europe.

In the Study of Salvador Barrios and Juan Nicolas Ibanez, on influence of climate changes to the European tourism, it was outlined that as of 2100, increase of temperatures in European countries in the Mediterranean, especially Italy and Spain, will chase away tourists from the beaches during the summer.

All beautiful places in the north of the continent which are today considered to be too cold sush as Baltic countries coasts could face intensive development of sea summer tourism, they claim, Milano Corriere dela serra reports.

Spanish researchers forecast that since the beginning of 22nd century, profit generated from tourism in the countries around Mediterranean will start decreasing by 0,45% annually while in the countries of north Europe they will grow at the rate of 0,32% per year.
