ANTIC: Returning Resavica to EPS system is not an option

Serbian Mining and Energy Minister Aleksandar Antic said that returning Resavica underground coal mines to the EPS system was not taken in consideration, adding that the aim instead was to find strategic partners for these mines.

Antic also noted that the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) was in a complicated situation, reminding that they were working on a restructuring plan to make this company even more successful.

Antic stressed that underground coal mines were currently producing about 700,000 tonnes of coal a year and employing about 4,000 miners.
