Construction of panorama gondola at Zlatibor starts today

Foundation stone for the construction of panorama gondola at Mount Zlatibor will be laid Wednesday, August 19th, at 11 AM. This ceremony, in a location above the market, will officially mark the commencement of construction works, and the plan is to put the gondola into operation in 2016.

Construction of the first panorama gondola in Serbia, which will connect the center of Zlatibor with Tornik, was announced in February 2015 by Zlatibor Tourism Organization Director Arsen Djuric at the 37th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade.

He pointed out on that occasion that Zlatibor, with 250,000 guests and over 1 million overnight stays a year, was the most popular tourist destination in Serbia, adding that the number of visitors was expected to decuple upon the completion of the longest and the most modern panorama gondola in Europe, 9 kilometers long.
