Tigar tops list of exporters - Bigger foreign trade turnover in area covered by Nis Chamber of Commerce
Foreign trade turnover generated by companies based in the regions of Nisava, Pirot and Toplica in the first half of the year totaled USD 844.3 million, up 2.8% from the same period last year, the Nis Regional Chamber of Commerce has announced.
The data provided by the Chamber show that exports from aforementioned three regions were at USD 465.9 million, while imports totaled USD 378.3 million.
When compared to the same six-month period in 2014, the value of exports grew 0.6%, whereas imports went up 5.6%.
Like many years before, the list of biggest exporters from the regions of Nisava, Pirot and Toplica is again topped by Pirot-based Tigar which generated 33% of overall exports, followed by Philip Morris and Leoni from Prokuplje. Aside from being the top exporters, these companies are also on the list of top importers, according to the data provided by the Nis Regional Chamber of Commerce.
In the first half of the year, the list of export destinations for the goods from the regions of Nisava, Pirot and Toplica was topped by Germany (USD 88.6 million), followed by France (48.9), Italy (42.1) and Hongkong (26.4), while most goods were imported from Germany (USD 62.8 million), Turkey (31.6) and Italy (USD 24.5 million).
