Six-month suffice of agriculture exceeds USD 600 m

Foreign exchange of agricultural products of Serbia in the first six months 2015 reached USD 2,1 billion – export totaled USD 1,4 billion and import USD 712,7 m, it was stated at the website of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC).

In that period, Serbian food industry generated surplus in trading with the world totaling USD 690 m, which is 20,6% more than in the same period last year and coverage of import with export from 169% to 196,8%.

The most important export agricultural and food products are corn which makes almost fifth of Serbian export then cigarettes, frozen raspberry, white sugar, fresh apples. According to the structure of export, corns take 27,8%, then fruit and vegetables 21,5% and tobacco 8,7%.
Raw coffee, bananas, cigarettes, different kinds of food products are mainly imported to Serbia. In the structure of agricultural import, fruit and vegetables, coffee and tea, tobacco and crops as well as crops product dominate.
