Trash in Law - new regulation for waste management

Soon, new strict rules will included in the Law regarding rejection of computer, medical, pharmaceutical, packaging and other waste. According to the words of Zoran Tešić, chief in the Ministry of Environment Protection, new legal regulation about waste management introduces obligations related to creation, takeover, transport of waste and waste handling methods.

This legal regulation introduces rules for handling each type of waste, from those that contain asbestos to flourescent tubes that contain mercury, used batteries and other electronic products.

Pharmaceutical waste includes dispersed drugs and products, as well as drugs that expired. Pharmacies are obliged to return unused or expired drugs to the manufacturer.
