Government of Norway and non-government sector invest 180,000 EUR in projects for development of private entrepreneurship in Kosovo


The Embassy of Government of Kingdom of Norway and non-government organizations Migrations Research Center from Belgrade and "Naša kuća" from Lipljan signed the contract yesterday (August 8, 2007) on donation worth about 180,000 EUR. The funds have been provided within the scope of the project for development of private entrepreneurship and economic sustainability of life in enclaves in Kosovo and Metohia.
According to announcement, another 17 projects that will employ 59 persons have been commenced within this cycle. There are another 30 new ideas for development of economic sustainability in Kosovo and Metohia and they are all in the procedure for approval.
The aim of the project, which was started and implemented by NGOs Migrations Research Center from Belgrade and "Naša kuća" from Lipljan, is to provide funds to the members of the communities in Kosovo and Metohia for starting and improvement of entrepreneurial projects, which will ensure financial security and make the living easier.
Biljana Jović, President of the Migrations Research Center, pointed out that more than 300 draft projects had been submitted to 11 offices of "Naša kuća" in the previous two months, 21 of which would be selected to be financed in the first phase of the project.
Among the selected projects are various enterprises, such as units for production of Turkish delight and gummy candies, wine cellars, sheep and chicken farms, etc. Following the signing of the contract, Ambassador Hokon Blankeborng opened a packing unit in the confectionery company "Kondi" in Gračanica and wine cellar in Orahovac.
