Train sales push Alstom's revenue up

One of the world's leading manufacturers of transportation means and equipment for power plants, Alstom, increased its revenue in the first quarter of the business year 2015/2016. The revenue went up 8% from the previous year thanks to good regional train sales in France, Italy, Germany and South Africa.

In the period April-June 2015, Alstom registered a revenue of EUR 1.602 billion and announced new orders for goods totaling EUR 1.955 billion, Reuters reports.

For the entire current business year, this French company expects the revenue to grow 5 percent if the foreign currency effect is ignored.
