Banja Luka Airport to get new cargo assembly center

Experience in chilled beef trade with Istanbul indicated that cargo transport is an area to develop on the Banja Luka Airport. Therefore, the mamagement of the company reached a decision to issue a project documentation for cargo assembly center with all necessary capacities and facilities.

Since November 2014, there have been 72 cargo operations including the transport of 3,096 tonnes of chilled beef.

The funding will be used to expropriate land for the construction of the cargo centre, expand the runway and the airport's main building.

The Serbian entity's government obligates the Ministry of Finance to provide some 2 million marka (1 million euro) for the project.

In the first six months of 2015, the airport handled 10,877 passengers and reported 765 aircraft movements.
