‘DunavNet’ , the company from Novi Sad was first on the list with its ‘ IrrigNet’ project along with 43 projects, which were granted assets within ‘Fractals’ project, announced the company. There were 269 competitors from 26 European countries.
‘IrrigNet’ is an innovative service designed to help sugar beet producers (with the possibility of developing solution for the other cultures) through optimization of irrigation process, in the way that data from sensors set in the ground in a field (for example land features – temperature and humidity), current weather conditions and weather forecast are used as an input parameters in mathematical model which then defines ‘instruction’ for irrigation. Use of ‘IrrigNet’ in the field provides efficient irrigation because of the use of the Internet technology and smart devices ( internet of things, IoT) , while at the same time we achieve significant results: increase of yield and quality of crops, more rational water consumption and reduction of harmful influence on land.
