- "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" (NIS) plans to invest 180m EUR in rehabilitation of 300 gas stations prior to 2010, if the state approves credit in amount of 372m EUR to that company - said General Manager of NIS Srđan Bošnjaković.
The plan is that the reconstruction of gas station be partially financed from that loan, while the rest should be provided from the additional capitalization after privatization and from the income of the company itself. Bošnjaković explained that the technical documentation would be made for all gas stations at the same time, and that their rehabilitation could start at the beginning of the following year, which would enable saving of about 40%, because the expenses are much larger when the reconstruction of each gas station is carried out individually.
The plan is that the part of gas stations is completely rehabilitated, some of them will introduce new products, among which is liquid oil gas, and the investments will include uniting of all facilities into unique visual identity of "NIS-Petrol".
- The experience shows that the rehabilitation of gas stations increases turnover, as well as profit, with additional assortment and enhancement of quality of services - said Bošnjaković and reminded that NIS had already rehabilitated 40 gas stations.
Of total of 1,300 gas stations in Serbia, NIS owns about 500.
