Chinese ‘Betec’ interested in building thermo-power plant in Serbia

Chinese company ‘Betec’ is interested in investing between 300 and 500 mil EUR in thermopower plant in Serbia, said the representatives of the shareholders of the company at the meeting with the president of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic on Friday (17 July 2015).

According to the president’s Department of Media Relations, the representatives of ‘Betec’ said that building of the power plant should start by the end of this year.

The representatives of Betec also said that they are interested in exploitation of geothermal energy from two sources in the town of Vranje and the town of Kursumlija and that Chinese development bank is interested in supporting the project of building thermopower plant, as well as the research of new geothermal sources.

-Chinese companies and Chinese investors are welcome to Serbia and I am sure that both Serbia and the Chinese entrepreneurs would have a great benefit from investing in the production in Serbia – said Nikolic during the meeting with the delegation of shareholders of Chinese Betec corporation, which was lead by Ji Feng Gou.

`Betec` company deals in exploitation of energy from geothermal sources and geothermal research and it started its business in Serbia three years ago.
