Greek Alpha Bank has sold its activities to the Greek competitor Eurobank, including 83 branches employing 744 people in Bulgaria, as stated in the announcement of Alpha Bank.

Alpha Bank states that the sale of its business to the Bulgarian Eurobank branch, Eurobank Postbank , is a part of a promise given to European Commission regarding reduction of its international business after the approval of the restructuring plan in July 2014, informs ANA Greek news agency.

The transaction will be ended in the third quarter of 2015.

Alpha bank sold its Ukrainian branch offices to Delta Bank, the local financial group in 2013.

It is said in the text that Alpha Bank held 2,5 % of share in the loans market and 1,0 % in the deposit market in Bulgaria.
