Komercijalna banka among 1,000 world strongest banks - first on list is Bank of America

Komercijalna banka is the only Serbian bank among 1,000 world strongest banks on the list of respectable London's financial monthly magazine "Banker". Measured through the strength of capital of the first order at the end of 2006, in so far the largest survey, Komercijalna banka, with the capital of 267m USD is the first in Serbia and the 931st in the world.

The strongest bank with the first-order capital of 91 billion USD is Bank of America. It is followed, also, by American City Bank Group, English HSBC, French Credit Agricole etc.

The largest number of banks on that list are from America (202), followed by Japan (101), Germany (88), Spain (46), Switzerland and Taiwan (34), China (31), India and Russia (27).

From the territory of the Balkans, among the 1,000 best ranked banks, in addition to Komercijalna banka, are 10 Greek banks, 5 Croatian, 4 Romanian and 2 Bulgarian banks.
