Chinese Haier is interested in Gorenje

Chinese giant Haier is interested in takeover of Gorenje or strategic partnership, Finance finds out.

Over the past few weeks, in Velenje, there was a number of reps of the Chinese giant. It is still not clear whether the talks went far.

Panasonic and Gorenje signed last week an annex to the contract on long-term strategic partnership. Two parties agreed to expand strategic cooperation to a few new areas of business. From now on, as announced two years by Gorenje, Panasonic and Gorenje will cooperate on procurement of material and components, in production of innovations, after-sale services, logistics, quality assurance and distribution of big and small household appliances at selected markets.

Haier is one of the biggest world producers of household appliances and has 240 branch offices, 30 developmental centers and more than 50 000 employees.
