NBS: We carefully monitor business of 4 Greek banks

Current situation with resect to crisis in Greece did not affect significant dinar decline vs. euro and the National Bank of Serbia has been carefully monitoring business operations of four banks owned by Greece, especially their liquidity and relations with mother groups, NBS said today for Tanjug.

- So far, these banks did not show problem with liquidity, moreover they have liquidation indicator above total in local banking sector, there has been no findings of funds outflow based on withdrawal by mother companies or more significant savings deposits – NBS says.

Current happenings with respect to crisis in Greece did not, as stated, influence significantly moves at domestic foreign currency market or dinar decline vs. euro

After results of the referendum in Greece, at the world financial markets, there has been decline in euro compared to the most important world currencies but the European currency after average weakening, partially regained its value in todays’ afternoon trading.

- Since our economy in foreign trading relations is mainly focused on economies of Euro zone, more important changes with respect to Euro compared to leading world currencies have relatively small influence on local foreign currency market trends – NBS outlines.

The first deposits withdrawals recorded from Greek banks operating in Serbia

Some citizens of Serbia decided to withdraw their deposits from Greek banks, Novosti reports. Companies and public sector took the same steps.
