Two companies interested in Smederevo-based Zelezara - Visits of potential investors follow

Member of the work group and Supervisory Board at Zelezara Smederevo, Bojan Bojkovic, said that work group for Zelezara was set up since there are at least two companies which are interested in serious investments in the company.

He said for RTS that one of the companies is among the first five steel producers in the world.

When asked what has been done in these three months since announcements from the government tell that already in August profit is expected in Zelezara and said that already in the first month of business new management succeeded in setting losses to a minimum and saving four million dollars.

When asked when the second high furnace will be put into operation, he said that in line with the contract for managing Zelezara, it was planned late this year and he expects it to happen in late August.

Bojkovic said new management enables steel placement since it immediately found new markets in Germany and Austria particularly.

New management, Bojkovic claims signed new bargain agreement with three representative trade unions at Zelezara for three salary increases.
