Hungarian company MOL and Croatian INA have announced that, during drilling on the natural gas field in the vicinity of Hungarian-Croatian border in Zalata, in Hungarian region of Baranja, they came to the valuable discovery.
The two companies signed the contract in September last year on joint design of research gas wells in the area of Zalata Podravska Slatina, and this discovery is the first result of this collaboration. Exact reserves of hydrocarbon that has recently been discovered will be determined after the analysis of the deposit grounds. INA points out that the gas wells are in the area that has been poorly researched, which "creates new opportunities for research works on that territory".
The companies will share their future production, and since there is no production infrastructure in that area, the final works on the field will be postponed for several years.
