Plan adopted, Slavija without underground passages

The City parliament adopted a few plans more including the one which governs commercial zone in Bubanj potok, between a bypass and planned railroad.

The mayor, Sinisa Mali, said to journalist that primary reconstruction project of the Slavija square which implied underground passages encountered citizens’ critiques and therefore it was changed.

- Unlike previous city authorities, we listened to the citizens. When the first project emerged, it contained underground tunnels, which were mainly the topic for critique of Belgrade citizens who stated they will be narrow and claustrophobic and that they will be afraid of passing through them. We adopted the comments and requests– Mali said.

New solution for development of Slavija, as he said, should provide less burden for the square and enable shorter time of train waiting.

- We have not been inventing something on our own but we listened to citizens – Mali said.

The head of parliament group DS, Balsa Bozovic, said that Slavija is being built without underground passages which completely spoils the idea and project which were created during the DS time.
