Sertic ignored Soros - American billionaire withdraws offer for Galenika

American billionaire, George Soros, gave up the acquisition of "Galenika", disappointed with the fact that the Government of Serbia did not see it as appropriate to send him a reply to the offer even after 10 months.

It could have been heard recently from the Government that Soros gave up Serbian plant for debts of EUR 22 m and the truth is, as Blic finds out, that the company of this German billionaire did not get any reply from Nemanjina 11. Whether it is the fact that the offer should have been replied to on time or a constructor was to blame, Soros gave up Serbia.

In October 2014, Soros, through its fund, "Quantum strategic partners" sent a letter of interest for "Galenika". Although it was a non-obliging document, the American businessman was considered one of serious buyers.

According to unofficial information, Soros offered between 60 and 70 m for "Galenika”.

The Ministry of trade said for "Blic" that there was not room for Soros in this case.

Last month, "Galenika" released a call for privatization adviser. Deadline to find a strategic partner is May 31, 2016.
