Fruit and vegetable export deal landed with Russian retailer Magnit -Serbia to export about USD 300 million worth of food to Russia in 2015

Managers of over 80 companies from Serbia have talked in the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC) with the representatives of the leading Russian retailer Tander Magnit, the SCC announced in a release.
The Serbian Chamber of Commerce, which successfully works with Russia's largest market chain Tander Magnit for many years, has organized aforementioned visit and meetings between the representatives of Serbian companies, manufacturers of fresh fruits and vegetables, and their possible new partners in the Russian market.
- A large number of companies in Serbia expressed interest in cooperation, so we organized bilateral commercial negotiations between Tander Magnit officials and Serbian manufacturers, future exporters. Our wish is to support the internationalization of operations of our companies, and one of the best channels in the market of Russian Federation is Tander Magnit - says Dejan Delic, an adviser for the Russian Federation at the SCC.
Tander Magnit is the largest market chain with about 10,000 stores, over 80,000 employees, and a revenue of more than USD 20 billlion in 2014. Magnit operates across the entire European part and most of the remaining territory of the Russian Federation, selling both food and non-food products.
- Tander Magnit began cooperation with the SCC in 2008. Ever since, Magnit has been importing 50-60 million US dollars worth of food products from Serbia every year - Delic noted.
The Russian Federation is Serbia's third largest market for food products. In 2014, Serbia exported over USD 1 billion products to Russia, thus hitting a record high from 2013. Considering the export figures for the first three months of 2015, the exportation of Serbian agricultural food products to Russia is expected to exceed USD 300 million.
