660 location and 556 building permits issued to date

From the moment the new Law on Planning and Construction came into force, a total of 660 location and 556 building permits have been issued in Serbia, Aleksandra Damnjanovic, state secretary at the Ministry of Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure, said today.
Representatives of the Ministry have paid a visit to almost all local self-governments in the country to ensure educational workshops are organized for the people doing this job and to solve the problems occurring in practice, Damnjanovic said at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee for Spatial Planning, Transportation, Infrastructure and Telecommunications.
She pointed out that most problems were encountered in the first month following the promulgation of the Law, adding that current reports were showing that the situation in the field was much better.
The number of requests for location and building permits is expected to grow significantly starting as early as June, she said and reminded that the issuing of electronic building permits was due to start January 1st.
There is also a call center for all those who would like to learn more about the terms and conditions for getting a permit. Financial support for this call center, which is open eight hours a day, is provided by NALED.
