Serbia signed International energy charter

The minister of mining and energy, Aleksandar Antic, signed on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, in the Hague, International energy charter which will enable implementation of multilateral and regional energy projects.

- Serbia signed International energy charter together with 65 countries of Europe, America, Africa and Asia – minister Antic wrote on his Twitter profile after signing the charter.

The International energy charter is adapted to modern challenges in energy and is open for all countries in the world, Antic said for Tanjug and added the charter is an excellent framework for the widest international cooperation in energy field.

That cooperation will be focused on, as he said, on investments in capacities for production and transfer of energy as well as on energy efficiency development and renewable energy sources.

Cooperation, as Antic outlined, is important since energy projects, due to modern energy challenges in the world, are becoming more multilateral and regional.

So far, 64 parties, including states and organizations such as EU members and Euratom, have signed International energy charter.
