Company "Bakus" Berkovići obtained 30-year concession from the Government of Republic of Srpska for exploitation of drinking water from the source of the Bregava river. Director of "Bakus", Novica Škrba, says that the signing of the contract crowned its three-year work on testing of the source and preparation of investment-technical documentation for construction of factory (bottling factory) of naturally clean water. Flow and reserves of the water were tested by "Geozavod" from Zvornik, while its bacteriologic-chemical characteristics were checked by the experts of Belgrade-based Military Medical Academy. Their findings are more than satisfying. The water from the source Bregave is among the best natural drinking waters in Europe. Betwee 8 and 10 million KM will be invested in the water factory, mainly from the credits, 7 million KM of which will be spent on the equipment. It is German equipment "Hronos" with two lines, each with capacity of 13,000 bottles. The factory will employ between 60 and 70 workers and its daily capacity will be 500,000 bottles. The works on construction of water factory in Berkovići will start on July 1, 2005, and it will be completed in 5 months. The water factory on Bregave will be the first production unit in this undeveloped municipality in Herzegovina. Construction facility, in which equipment will be settled, will have dimensions 70 x 30 m and the unit for production of palettes will be built right next to him. That other unit will employ 15 workers. Source Bregave is located some 71 km away from the port of Ploče, which will make transportation easier. Water will be exported under name "Bregava" and it will not be chlorinated, but only filtered. By the way, it is known that the water from Bregave, which originates from the insides of the Herzegovina rocky terrain, positively affects clearness of the mind, vitality of the organism, potency and longevity.
