German Tonnies will build a farm in Zrenjanin
German meat producer "Tonnies" will build in Zrenjanin one of its five planned farms and most likely processing department as well, the mayor of Zrenjanin, Cedomir Janjic confirned today and said that new investment cycle is underway in the town.
-Good news is that German "Tonnies" decided that one of the locatios of its farms is in Zrenjanin where a big farm of pigs would be built. At the same time, we are negotiating that a big slaughter is made as well which would be a real incentive for our cattle growers and it would definitely employ a large number of people from Zrenjanin. I think that these are good news, a crown to our work on promotion of industrial zones in the previous two years. All decision we made with respect to incentives for investors were fruitful. The industrial zone Ecka will soon be joined with smaller and bigger firms in order to solve our major problem, the unemployment. So far, 25 firms have been operating in industrial zones in our town.
According to him, they are thinking a step forward about stimulating individual residential buildings which would engage construction firms in local environment.
He adds that the list of priorities of city administration comprises a bypass which will solve problem with freight traffic. Since 2008, a single new meter of road has not been done but previous two years were used to generate terms to continue construction of bypass. The biggest investment in the entire project is the bridge at the Begej which will be funded by the Republic of Serbia and it went into the program for this year.
