Having purchased A Bank, "KBC Group" became long-term financial player on Serbian market

"KBC Group", which has recently become the owner of 100% of stocks of A bank for 97m EUR, intends to position itself on the market of Serbia on the long-term basis - said Andre Bergen, General Manager of "KBC Group" and added that the intention of this banking-insurance company was to stay in Serbia.
At the press conference held in Belgrade's hotel "Hyatt" he pointed out that "KBC" was the third largest financial group in central and east Europe and that it employed 51,000 people in more than 30 countries.
The decision about the future name of A bank will be made by local management.
Jan Vanhevel, General Manager for central and east Europe, said that "KBC" had decided for Serbia due to great potential of the market. On this market, according to his words, the group wants to implement the unique model of operations in banking and insurance sector and to focus on population and SME.
- Through 42 offices located all over Serbia, A bank will offer ideal platform to "KBC" for market entrance – said Avram Milenković, President of Executive Board of A bank. He pointed out that the strategy of the bank included constant focus on the client, supply of universal efficient and secure services and further development of business network through establishment of business units.
