Vučić sinks Sertić's proposal during meeting with IMF – No postponement of privatisation for 25 companies
Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić has overruled a proposal by minister Željko Sertić to postpone the privatisation of 25 companies undergoing restructuring.
I won`t tolerate sloppiness, said Vučić. That`s why I removed Sertić`s proposal at the meeting with the IMF. He added that his move had shocked the fund`s representatives.
Vučić remarked that while a new postponement of a solution might please his party, he knew that nothing had been done, not even in the last two years.
I have nothing but contempt for continual postponement, said Vučić. That`s why I sank Sertić`s and accepted the IMF`s proposal that for each of the 25 companies we negotiate with creditors and set a regulatory deadline for privatisation.
He asked the media not to support everyone who goes on strike.
Many of the companies they work in have produced nothing in the last six months and just spend Serbian citizens money, he said.
